See that bright and shiny face! Don't let the innocence deceive you. Over the thanksgiving break, I decided to take a break and give my wife a break by taking the kids to the local bike shop and run a few errands. Of course since its not my local bike shop, I try to look for deals that are to good to pass up and I was also there to find a new bike helmet for my oldest one. I found a great deal on a bike computer and a really cool helmet for my oldest. Then trauma my little one had lost his sippy cup. We retraced our steps and my oldest finally found the cup. In my excitement I ran over to get it and congratulate him for finding the cup. I LEFT THE LITTLE ONE ALONE! Every father's nightmare, but we usually come out unscathed and mom never knows. Not this time. I watched in slow motion as he was playing around a bike that was lined up next to 39 other bikes. I screamed NO and sprinted over to where he was standing as the bike was teetering on falling over. I arrive just in time to grab the bike as it was falling and yes I saved the day I grabbed the bike before it could fall; however, it had already hit the bike next too and the dominoes were set in motion all 39 bikes had crashed. After apologizing 50,000 times while helping pick up the bikes we quietly slithered out of the bike shop. I'm thinking about wearing a disguise the next time I go in.
